About Katie

Since graduating from Cambridge University with a Master’s degree in 2009, I have been working as a wedding harpist and trumpet player in the south west. Most recently I have studied the harp with the internationally renowned harpists Gabriella Dall’Olio, Head of Harp Studies at Trinity Laban Conservatoire and Catherine White, Professor of Harp at the Royal Academy of Music.

Having performed harp and trumpet music at weddings, concerts and other events for many years I have acquired have an extensive repertoire of solo and orchestral music.

I have worked on original incidental harp music with Howard Williams and Robin Holloway, performing the latter's Nausikaa in a season of performances in open air theatres in Emilia-Romagna and Tuscany, Italy. In December 2014 I played with Marlborough Choral Society for the first performance of a new arrangement of Finzi's In Terra Pax by Robert Gower.

My harp ensemble repertoire includes symphonies, ballets and operas as well as choral works such as Britten's A Ceremony of Carols, Rutter's Dancing Day, and Holst's Choral Hymns from the Rig Veda.

As an orchestral musician I have performed with a wide range of groups in London, Cambridge, the South of England and abroad. Performances have included works across the classical tradition from baroque to modern.

In recent years I have performed on Baroque trumpet with the Sastamala Gregorian Consort at the Sastamala Early Music Festival in Finland. In the south west I regularly play with the Devon Baroque Orchestra.

My trumpet repertoire includes a vast collection of orchestral and choral music such as Copland's Quiet City, Stravinsky's Petrushka, Handel's Messiah and the Verdi Requiem.
